Vaporizing VS. Smoking
Vaping vs smoking
This has been a major topic of discussion over the past decade and has left many different opinions about each. There's no way for me to tell you which one is “better” as that lies in your personal opinion. We will be digging deeper into how each can affect your health, the cost of each one, and ultimately the pros and cons of both.
At this point I think everyone knows that smoking cigarettes is one of the leading causes for lung cancer. Smoking cigarettes or tobacco is also associated with chronic bronchitis and emphysema which both affect the lungs and the airways to the lungs. The heat also creates an issue and puts a person at risk for damaging the tissue in the lips, tongue, and cheeks. Most of the effects that come with smoking are irreversible.
Let's not leave out the fact that smoking weed has some of the same effects. Smoking weed also causes issues with your lungs and respiratory system, as well as hurting the immune system. It is shown to have the same toxins, irritants, and carcinogens as you would consume from tobacco smoke solely on the fact that both you use an open flame and combust the material.
Switching to a vaporizer method from a smoking method has shown to improve self-reported respiratory symptoms by 73%. Vaporizing does not cause combustion because there is no open flame, the vaporizers keep the temperature right under the temperature of combustion. Without the high heat it does not create smoke and in turn does not burn off nearly as much of the toxins and carcinogens, which lowers the chances of lung problems. Vaping does not eliminate all issues but it cuts it back quite a lot and you can see that vaping is less harmful than smoking.
Show me the money
Up front it may not look like vaporizers save you any money. You can look at the prices and fro a simple vape pen it can cost you $30 but for a better more durable vape you are looking upwards of $400. Now I know what you are thinking, that's a lot of money for something so small, but let me tell you that it is an investment.
Now buying a pack of cigarettes is roughly $5 - $10 for each pack, throughout a lifetime of someone smoking you are looking at around $1.1 million to $2 million depending on where you live. That's a big difference from a vaporizer at a high of $400 that can last you years if taken care of properly with regularly cleaning.
Of course you need to buy the product to smoke through the vaporizer, but that is in your control. You can decide what it is you're vaping and at what price point you want to spend. You cannot say the same about buying tobacco products.
Keep in mind that you will also be using less product in your vaporizer as it does not burn your product and allows it to last longer. The other benefit is after you vaporize your product you can use it for weed-infused products which you cannot do with smoked weed. Vaping your product in the long run will save you money.
Vaping dry herb is parity simple. Grind up your favorite herb and stick it into your vaporizer and wait till it heats up. When you think about smoking dry herb there's much more that goes into it, not only the grinding but the rolling takes time and let's hope that you did not forget a lighter. Smoking you need much more time and accessories with vaping it is easy just grab and go.
Vaporizers are much more discreet than smoking. Yes, that are bigger, but they have relatively no smell which means most people (unless they know what a vape is) will not assume you are smoking dry herb. Also, it will not isolate yourself. To vape you still need to go outside to use it, but because there is no smell you will not be pushing people away. Let’s be honest no one wants to walk back into a room smelling of smoke.
Our humble opinion
Like stated in the beginning of this, we are not here to tell you which one is better as that is up to you to decide. For a long time people have known the harmful effects of smoking and still continue to do so.
However, we will need to lean towards the use of vaporizers over smoking of any kind. It is shown to be better for your health, cost less in the long run, and becomes more convenient when out and about.
Try it out and let us know what you think.
